Indivisible Northampton, serving the first and second Congressional Districts of Western MA, is a chapter of the national progressive grassroots movement, Indivisible, with over 2000 chapters nationwide.
Our mission is to educate and mobilize voters, elect and hold accountable bold, progressive leaders at the local, state and national levels, and create a community of activists through effective, networked and sustainable action.
Indivisible Northampton formed from 2 neighborhood groups that had been meeting since November, 2016, to fight back against the authoritarian, racist, and corporatist agenda of Trump and his right-wing enablers. We meet as an open group twice monthly, hosting candidates and representatives of various progressive causes and legislation. In addition, we have several action teams, each of which focuses on a particular goal, such as universal health care, criminal justice reform, immigration justice, electing progressives to office, and more.
Our mailing list numbers over 400, and our members regularly lead and support the progressive campaigns of individuals and policies, often collaborating with other progressive groups.
